19,20,21 March, Logan SE QLD, Australia. 'Sculpted Surprises
Explore the sculptural possibilities of metal cloth and heat reactive textile materials in this dynamic workshop. You’ll use woven metals alongside sheer fabrics, Lutradur, and other heat-reactive surfaces to create a unique three-dimensional form—whether it’s a vessel, container, or abstract structure is up to you.

26, 27, 28 March. 'Time for Tea' at The Embroiderers' Great Escape, Orewa, Auckland NZ
Join fellow stitch addicts for teh Great Escape. If you join me you will be having fun combining tea bags, fine fabrics, papers and stitch to create an embroidered and decorated panel.

10 July. 'Piano Hinge style handmade book' at Granary Studio, Owslebury, UK
A Sculptural Bookbinding Workshop. Learn how to create a distinctive “piano hinge” or stick-bound book — a playful, flexible structure that opens beautifully and becomes a piece of art in its own right.

11, 12 July. 'Melted Pathways: Heat Reactive Textures and Stitch' at Granary Studio, Owslebury, UK
Discover how heat can transform everyday synthetic fabrics into sculptural surfaces. We’ll work with chiffons, Zeelon, Lutradur and other man-made materials, exploring how they shrink, distort and blister under controlled heat. Layer, melt and manipulate your fabrics to create bold textural foundations, then add stitched lines or swirling patterns to build a richly dimensional piece. A playful workshop full of experimentation and surface exploration.

16 -23 July. 'Metal & Thread: Inspired by the Lines and Textures of Nature' at the very special Studio Preniac, France
Explore the beauty of the natural world through textile art. Drawing inspiration from the intricate forms, lines, and patterns found in nature—such as tree bark, leaf veins, flowers, seeds, and fungi—you’ll create a unique textile art piece that reflects your favourite natural inspirations.
Under Alysn’s guidance, you’ll work with an exciting range of materials, including metal fabrics, soluble film, Lutradur, Tyvek, and wire. Techniques will include machine and/or hand stitching, wire manipulation, colouring metal with heat, beading, and embellishment.
Set in a stunning and tranquil part of the Lot region in South West France, Studio Préniac hosts tutor-led creative textile and painting holidays.

6, 7 August. Metal and Thread Nature inspirations at Oxfordshire Arts and Crafts, UK
A 2 day workshop to explore techniques and design using natural shapes as inspiration and metal cloth and stitch as technique.

8 August. 'Angelina fibre with a hint of Hundertwasser', Oxfordshire Art and Craft, UK
A day using the non-fusible Angelina fibres to create a complex, layered and stitched surface.

14, 15, 16 August. 'Metal Threads Inspired by lines in nature' at Craft Arena, Essex, UK
Three days to explore the properties of metal cloths combined with stitch, wires and threads.

28 November. Time for Tea at Selwyn College, Auckland, NZ
Use unusual materials such as tea bags and paper to create surfaces for stitch and embellishments.

29 November. Embossed metal for textile art at Selwyn College, Auckland, NZ
Experiment with metal as a surface for textile-based work. You’ll learn how to emboss patterns into lightweight metal, apply alcohol inks for colour, and combine fabrics, threads, and beads to build rich surfaces.
