Your Taking Textiles Further 2024 workshops (13/ 14 August and 20 /21 August) will explore the world of wire and plastics. These upcoming textile and sculpture workshops build on some of the techniques covered in 2023 though you do not need to have participated in those to book, and if you enjoyed the 2023 sessions, be prepared to continue your journey this year! Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, these workshops are designed to inspire and empower you to push your creative boundaries. Unleash your creativity and discover the endless possibilities these versatile materials offer. Join me to dive into the boundless world of wire and plastics. Under my guidance you'll have the opportunity to experiment with techniques that range from delicate jewellery making to crafting large-scale sculptures, hangings or framed pieces. Wire's malleability lends itself to crafting pieces that exude both delicate elegance and bold strength. So come join us as we laugh, learn, and create together. The workshops will run for two days each: the 13 and 14 August, and the 20th and 21st August, 2024. The sessions are designed for you to be able to choose either of the date choices or all of them in which case you will be able to combine the techniques and ideas in more evolved and considered ways and get a great discount too! August 20th and 21st: Plastic Formations Workshop Cost: £135.00 Discover the potential of plastic in our two-day workshop! Learn how to transform ordinary soft plastics into yarn and fabric, and explore techniques like distressing, stitching, layering, and colouring. I’ll also show you how to incorporate other mediums and materials to alter the character of the plastic, allowing for exploration of different surfaces and structures. Once you have confirmed your place by payment of the deposit you have agreed to enter into a contract with Alysn Midgelow-Marsden where your fees are non-refundable nor interchangeable. If you begin this course then decide not to continue you will not receive a refund. If you are unable to attend a class due to illness, or for personal reasons, you will not be entitled to a refund for sessions missed. If the group drops below 5 participants, the course will be cancelled, and your fees will be refunded if you are not cancelling. In the event that Alysn Midgelow-Marsden is unable to deliver one or more of the sessions due to illness, every effort will be made to deliver a ‘make-up’ session.
