Used industrially produced fine cloths woven from pure metals in copper, bronze, brass and stainless steel. Learn ideas and techniques in this practical and productive course.
You will take advantage of their manipulability, translucence, structural qualities and stitchability to investigate possibilities for hangings and sculptures (both in- and out-door), for practical and artistic wearables, for adornments and jewellery.
Add colour, use inventive applique techniques; address structural uses; use soluble fabrics, chiffons, fibres and stitch techniques for construction and surface decoration.
By the end of the course you will have a sample book with ideas to make your own pieces either complete or in progress.
